England cricketer Kevin Pietersen is set to play a role in the new season of the Indian Premier League.

The ace cricketer would not be donning any club jersey in the money spinning league poised to start in Hyberabad.

The IPL is in its tenth year and it has been attracting the best players in the world. Pietersen would be making his debut in the commentary business after years of experience in India. The former Bangalore, Delhi and Pune cricketer would be sharing his opinionsin the first, fourth and final week of the eight-team league.

He took to Twitter to make the announcement.

“IPL NEWS – I’ll be commentating on week one, week four and the finals. Will be fun to be back in India,” his statement read.

The player withdrew from the 2017 IPL auction, claiming he needed more family time in April and May. His club Rising Pune Supergiant released him before the auctions to play in the Pakistan Super League for Quetta Gladiators.

Pietersen has been in the commentary box in the Big Bash League and he was invited during the clash between Australia and South African last year. He played in the league for the first time in 2009 but has remained smitten. The fans would have another chance to have him in the IPL but without a bat in hand. He has always managed to thrill the fans and he would have the opportunity with the microphone and camera.
